When one thinks of federal law enforcement, the first agency that comes to mind is the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). How to Become an FBI Special Agent in Washington: Training and Degree Requirements
Any Washington resident who wishes to become an FBI special agent in Washington must first meet fundamental requirements:
- Be an American citizen
- Be an American resident for three of the past five years
- Have a valid U.S. drivers’ license and six months’ driving experience
- Have at least a bachelor’s degree
- Have at least two years of professional experience
- Be willing to undergo 20 weeks of training in Virginia, if hired
- Be willing to be placed by the FBI anywhere needed, if hired
- Be willing to work long hours and overtime, if hired
- Be willing to carry firearms at all times, if hired
